This is a series designed to circumvent Italian traffic laws that mandated the registration of vehicles with an engine capacity greater than 50 cc. Extremely versatile and reliable, the modern engine with a cylinder inclined at a 45-degree angle was Corradino d’Ascanio’s last design. The model had a 3-speed manual transmission.
This example was one of the first to be produced in the 50L version (V5A1T), that is, being a more luxurious variant of the 50 N version, but still having the older emblem and lacking the aluminum edge protection for the leg guard.
Italian regulations defined the 50 as a moped, so that you didn’t need a driver’s license to drive it, only to turn 14. This translated into huge popularity of this stylish model. Today, such a scooter can be a collector’s item, but it can also be used for stylish travel around town during the summer season.
