Developed since 1946, the Piaggio Vespa is a true icon of Italian style, synonymous with the urban unicycle. Over the years, it has appeared in countless films, publications and advertising campaigns as a symbol of the evolution of a lifestyle returning to normalcy after the war. To date, more than 3.5 million Vespa 50s have been produced in various models and variations.
The 50 “Elestart” introduced a novelty in the form of an electric starter, and the appearance was completely changed compared to the 1964 model 50. The new model had square lamps and an ignition switch on top of the handlebars. The “kickstand” was removed and the horn cover was changed compared to the 1964 50cc model.
