The history of Vespa (Wasp) scooters is closely linked to the history of the Piaggio company. Vespa was the first scooter that popularized this category of unicycles. Its name referred to the distinctive shape of the vehicle with a narrow waist (cross section) and wide abdomen (rear wheel arch). It was designed in 1946 by engineer Corradino D’Ascanio. It was intended to be a low-cost vehicle for the mass market.
The 125 PX has a two-stroke 125 cubic centimeter engine, mounted on the right side of the vehicle, and drives the motorcycle through a four-speed manual transmission.
